Ultimate Crispy Fried Mushrooms
(Serves 4)
Ingredients:
300 grams button mushrooms
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup ice-cold water
oil for deep frying
salt
Dry Crumb Mixture
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
1 teaspoon chilli powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon pepper powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
salt
Method:
Clean mushrooms, pat dry and cut each into quarters.
Heat oil on medium flame for deep frying.
In a bowl, add flour, ice-cold water and salt. Combine well and set aside.
Mix all the ingredients listed under dry crumb mixture into a separate bowl.
Dip each mushroom piece into the liquid flour mixture and then coat with the dry crumb mixture.
Deep fry in batches until mushrooms are crisp and golden brown.
Drain on a sieve set over a bowl.
Serve hot.
