In Canada, we get various cuts of pork. One cut, is the pork chops either from the front rib cage or back section of the pig. Bone-in chops are preferable as the bone retains the moisture with the meat being juicier and flavourful. Chops can be baked, grilled or fried. Baking or grilling are definitely healthy cooking methods. Whatever method you choose for cooking, the safe internal temperature of cooked pork chops should be 145 degree Fahrenheit.
The chops are marinated with spices, Worcestershire sauce, apple cider vinegar for a couple of hours or overnight in the refrigerator. They are baked till the meat is cooked through and slightly caramelized. Served with potato wedges and salad, the chops are scrumptious and make up a meal.
Pork chops are loaded with proteins, vitamins and minerals that are good for your health. When eating chops, watch serving size and avoid consuming the fat. They are economical compared to a beef rib steak or veal chop.
