Beef Tacos
(Yields 10)
Ingredients:
10 taco shells
1/2 kg beef mince or your choice of minced meat
1 teaspoon cumin powder
1 teaspoon chilli powder
1 1/2 teaspoons oregano powder
1/2 teaspoon pepper powder
2 medium-sized onions (chopped)
4 large cloves of garlic (chopped)
1/2 cup tomato puree
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
1/2 cup water
2 tablespoons oil
salt
Toppings:
1/2 head lettuce (chopped )
1 tomato (chopped)
1/2 cup shredded tex mex cheese
1/2 cup salsa
1/2 cup sour cream
Method:
Heat oil in a skillet, saute onions and garlic. When onions are soft, add the mince and cook till it is browned.
Stir in the spice powders, tomato puree, apple cider vinegar, water and salt. Cook on medium heat till meat mixture is thickened.
Heat taco shells as directed on the package.
Serve taco shells with meat mixture. Top with lettuce, tomato and cheese with salsa, sour cream at the side.
