A quick stir-fry that can be made with beef strips, marinated with Asian condiments and Worcestershire sauce. The strips are first seared in oil, then sauteed with onions, green chillies, ginger, garlic and finished with green bell pepper. An easy dish to prepare in less than 30 minutes. Spicy and mouth-watering, a perfect accompaniment to a glass of chilled beer.
Worcestershire sauce is of British origin from Worcester. It is a fermented liquid condiment made with tamarind extract, anchovies, molasses, sugar, barley malt vinegar, spirit vinegar, onions, garlic, salt and other spices. This sauce works excellent on beef and is used in caesar salad dressing. Also, commonly used to flavour bloody mary cocktails.
Beef is a good source of protein and other nutrients. A sirloin cut is leaner with less fat and a healthier option. Try to eat lean cuts of meat to control the amount of saturated fat and calories you consume.

Spicy Beef Stir-Fry
(Serves 4)
Ingredients:
1/2 kg beef sirloin (cut into strips)
2 large onions (sliced)
1 green bell pepper or capsicum (cut into strips)
4 long spicy green chillies (cut diagonally)
1/4 cup soy sauce
1 tablespoon sriracha hot sauce
1 tablespoon oyster flavoured sauce
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
1 1/2 tablespoons rice vinegar
6 large cloves of garlic (minced)
1” piece of ginger (cut into thin big slices)
1 teaspoon of coarsely ground pepper (preferably from pepper mill)
3 tablespoons oil
salt (if required)
Method:
Marinate beef strips with sauces, vinegar and pepper for 10 minutes.
In a skillet or wok, heat oil on medium high flame. Add the marinated beef, sear well along with garlic and ginger. The meat will start to release moisture. Stir and let meat cook for few minutes. Then add onions and green chillies.
When most of the moisture has evaporated, add green bell pepper strips. Stir till they soften slightly. Ensure that both the onions and green bell pepper strips are tender-crisp. Serve with a glass of chilled beer.
